Jack Manley Obituary

Jack Howard Manley
Mr. Manley, 80, of Charlotte, NC, died January 3, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Manley was born October 5, 1925 one of three children to the late Walter Manley and Ethel McFerrin Manley. He served in the United States Army 101st Airborne where he fought at the Battle of the Bulge under General Patton. He had been a driver all of his life and had worked with Mclean Trucking Company for 29 years before his retirement. Mr. Manley was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, Oasis Shrine and member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
A service to celebrate the life of Jack Manley will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the McEwen Charlotte Chapel, 727 E. Morehead Street. Burial with military honors will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The Manley family will greet friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the McEwen Charlotte Chapel.
Mr. Manley is survived by his three children: Jack C. Manley (Joann) of Newport; Scott H. Manley of Charlotte and Cheryl Wells (Jeff) of York, SC; five grandchildren: Aaron and Stephen Manley, Nicole and Samantha Manley and Brandon Wells. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Jean Sellers Manley in 1995.

God Bless the family of Jack. I worked with Jack at McLean from 71 to 75. He was a wonderful person with a great personality, always ready to lend a helping hand or kind word. Everyone respected Jack and enjoyed being around him. He was one of a kind...God Bless
