Dear Rachel,
My deepest sympathies to all of you. I wish I'd seen this a day earlier so that I could have offered my condolences in person.
It's been years since I've seen your dad (or you, for that matter!), but I do have fond memories of a few get-togethers in Pittsburgh and one in Paris.

I will miss his erudite opinions on business and current events, and our email exchanges over the years. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Jack was a generous person in addition to being a good business writer. He took time each week to read to my friend and Jack's former colleague, Alvin Rosensweet, who was losing his sight. He was an immense help to Alvin in his final years. I will never forget the example of true friendship that Jack exhibited.
