Not sure what to say?

I am very sorry for your loss. Mr. Mattingly's class at Woodrow was always a bright spot in school for me. He had such a warm, welcoming nature that, even as math-challenged as I was, I never felt anxious going into his classroom. School is not a positive experience for a lot of kids, but Mr. Mattingly was the kind of teacher that made it better. Thank you for sharing him with us all those years!

Mr. Mattingly was one of the best! Although it has been years since I've seen him, the memories are still so vivid. He was one of my teachers at Woodrow Wilson in '88 and '89. He was a character that found something special in each kid. He is missed dearly.

My prayers are with you during this time.

Am sad to hear of Jack's passing. We had some great, long talks while teaching together at WWW. He was one of a kind.

I have so many great memories of Mr. Mattingly and computer class. He made everything so fun and interesting. His sense of humor and genuine love of the students make him a stand out teacher and person. We had lots of laughs in that class and throughout my high school days at Woodrow. He will be missed! I pray you will find comfort from Jesus during this time, and I know one day, we will see Jack in Heaven.

Jane and Family: May our gracious God comfort you and family in this time of great loss. I well remember Jack and I as children and second cousins attending annual Laws-Mattingly Family reunions in Mt Vernon and how much fun we had as we played endless games, and hide and seek in the woods together.

I was an awful kid when I was at Woodrow. Really about as bad a student as I could be when I bothered to show up. Mr. Mattingly treated me with respect and fairness. He helped me pull off a passing grade in his computer math class so i would have the math credits I needed to graduate. I went on to earn a bachelor's degree. He was one of the nicest guys I ever met.

Jane, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.. Remember working closely with you when I worked in the Data Processing department at Region VII.

Chris (and other family members),

I am saddened to learn of your Dad's death. Please know that you and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I am glad to know that apparently Jack loved Colorado as much as I do.
