Not sure what to say?

I did not know Jack in life, but thankful for the moment of reflection on his bench on the Rachel Carson Greenway trail. Thank you for the rest, Jack! You've made a stranger happy nine years later. I love this trail too.

I hiked with Jack for several years up and down the Shenandoah Valley. It is a beautiful spring day and we are going for a walk around a lovely campus. And as is often the case, the beautiful scenery and spring weather put me in mind of Jack with all the good times.

L.H. (Hank) Purdy worked with Jack in Pullman. We stayed in touch for more than 60 years. Hank died 9-28-15. Jack was an inspiration.

Those who met him can't help but have their spirit lifted. He's one of the most energetic person in his 90's I have ever met. He's an inspiration and will be missed!

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), I offer our sincere condolences on Dr.Meiners' passing. You and your loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers. We are forever grateful for Dr. Meiners; service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service. To our Brother we say, Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country."
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace...

To the Meiners Family,

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Jack's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and all SUBVETS and their families have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Jack will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin, a member of our Greatest Generation, and a great Patriot.

LT(SS) Jack...

Jack was a wonderful role model and hiking companion.

He was an inspiration to all of us. He showed us that even at 90 and beyond one can still be active and live life to the fullest.

Missed and remembered.
