Not sure what to say?

Very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He was an inspiration to many of us by his energetic and positive approach to all things related to EMU.

Our sympathy to the Minzey family.

We were fortunate to spend more than 20 years working with Jack at the National Center for Community Education. He was an inspiration to thousands of people that came to Flint to learn about community education. His thoughtful and entertaining presentations moved people to develop community schools in every state and many countries.
A great man. Our prayers are with the Minzey family.

Dr. Minzey was the best teacher I ever had.

My mom remembers fondly Jack and Esther living across from us on Bennett Street in Milford. She said that Dave and I were competitive, but all I recall is that he was better at everything. I remember that Jack towering above the rest of us, and his laugh.

Mom remember having fun golfing with the Jack and Esther, including the time they visited their condo in Florida, and the many many shared birthday gatherings of the Dunns, Minzeys, and Scherer. "He was a witty man". Amen.

It was a great pleasure for me to get to know Jack when I came to EMU a couple of years ago. His tremendous contributions to the College and the field of community education were inspirational. I only wish I could have experienced his efforts when they were in full action. He was so very supportive of me and my efforts as the new Dean. Jack loved the College of Education and its faculty and students. He will be greatly missed.

Jack cared a lot about the neighborhood in which he and his wife lived and he also cared about the people who were his neighbors. He was always expressing ideas to make things better. We will miss him. Our hearts go out to his family.
