Not sure what to say?

I met Jack O'Connor by chance. He brought me in to produce the lighting for his production of The Wiz at UCHS.
I instantly saw that he was a man dedicated to his students, and am sad to learn today that he has passed on.
In what little time I was able to know him, I saw a man of great integrity with a great passion for teaching.

I am sure he will live on, in many ways, through the students he taught over the years. May he rest in peace.

In Memory of My Friend Jack O'Connor:

Carpe Diem is the first thing that comes to my mind. Jack's passing brings to light the importance of 'enjoy the day, pluck the day when it is ripe'. "Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary." from the film Dead Poets Society (1989).

Jack may be gone from this earthly existence, but will never be forgotten. Mr. O'Connor's legacy is the hundreds of students who were fortunate enough to have had him as a...

THank You! for introducing me to the stage. The place where anything was possible. Your legacy is great and will continue to shine for many. Rest In Peace.

After all these years, I still find myself wanting to call you Mr. O’Connor instead of Jack. On July 18, 2010, I was fondly remembering being your student in the Honors English Class you taught at Union Hill High School.
We were a group of about twenty that shared four years of our lives with you. You shared with us a wide perspective of the human experience through the literature we read for your class. I wish I could have told you what an impact your class had on me, as a person and...

I am smiling as I read through all the tribute comments and photos. I am so very proud of what he accomplished for himself and for those of you he inspired. During our sr. year at Syracuse University I shared an apt. with Jack, and Marsha. It was one of the best years of my life. I think we just about laughed everyday of it. Although we lost touch after my wedding and my subsequent moves across the country, I always knew what was going on in his life thru Marsha. Our birthdays were a day...

One of my dearest Mentors... May your light shine in heaven. You will be missed. Thank you for enriching my adolescence and molding me into the man I am today. God Bless

Rest in peace and my prayers are with your family. You taught me a lot about journalism. Thank you
