Not sure what to say?

My wish would be for every high school to have at least one Jack Ogle on staff. Bigger than life, mischievously joyous, inquisitive and passionate about instilling that curiosity in his students. He set us up to learn by setting up opportunities for us to explore and to get out of our comfort zones. A true life skill. Not as easy as it might sound when dealing with teenagers, as many of us discovered when we grew up to have teens of our own! I met Jack as a skinny sophomore trying out...

I learned a lot of things from my Dad. He and I travelled a lot, he taught my a lot about history, he encouraged my faith walk, but the best memories are hanging out with him and Steve Years back we went to England with Steve and his family. Steve lovingly called him "Siegfried" and "Hoosier Scout" and Indiana Jack and my dad had glasses that were custom made that said Indiana Jacks Tavern on the front. There would be times that Steve and I would be walking and my dad would be behind us...

I met coach Ogle in the summer of 1977 entering my freshman year of football at Lowell High School. I was just talking about this moment with my wife recently too. He asked everyone which position we wanted to try out for and when it came to my turn, I looked at him and said Fullback. He started to right that down, and I added quickly "That´s on Offense" and he did one of those slow looks up and gave me a disgusted look and stated "Yes, I´m the coach, I´m aware of that thank you". Hahaha. I...

Jack was an awesome guy and wonderful cousin. Condolences to the entire family. Tim & Kathe Ogle

Mr. Ogle was a good teacher. He has earned his rest. I still wonder how Kamp passed away.

Dave and I were saddened to hear about Jacks passing. Jack and Dave started their teaching careers together and have many memories of golfing, coaching together and sharing many laughs. For me Jack was my favorite teacher that really opened my eyes and gave me my love for history. He will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I am sorry to hear of Mr Ogle´s passing. He was my yearbook mentor from 1981-1983. He was one of my all time favorite teachers. I learned so much from him. Condolences and prayers to the family.

Our sympathy to you and your family, Sandra. -Rick and Carol Briggs

I´m struck by how profoundly this news is hitting me, especially so close on the heels of Steve Kampfschulte´s passing. Those two teachers were my mentors in high school and built my personal confidence with their trust and friendship to me and so many other knucklehead students. In their passing, I am again learning from them to cherish life and live it the best I can because it will all pass too quickly. Rest in peace, Mr. Ogle.
