Not sure what to say?

This coming week there is a conference in DC sponsored by CACE (Center for the Advancement of Christian Education). In fact I have been asked to speak. But I really should run those remarks past Jack--those are the kind of conversations we would have. Since we are retired, we could spend an hour on the phone. Miss that guy!

Eleanor and Family,
Jessie and I(John) pray for God's peace at this time of sorrow. We are sorry that we cannot be there to visit as we have just left West Michigan for a time.
We will truly miss a great friend, and give thanks that he is now with Jesus, who Jack resembled all his life.

I am shocked to hear about Jack's passing. Living in Lynden, WA, one soon gets out of the information loop of CSI schools. I had no idea that his cancer was persisting.

Jack was my friend. We did not see each other nearly enough, but once in a while I would call him or stop in to visit. And the annual CSI convention was always a time with Jack. He was an outstanding principal--i admired his faith and his deep deep commitment to Christian education.

How I wish I could have...

I had the privilege of seeing Jack at Jenison Christian School on a regular basis as well as taking a class with him. With a smile on his face, he knew how to connect with people and encourage them. I always enjoyed his positive outlook and insights during our discussions. Your family will be in my prayers.
