Not sure what to say?

As an old friend I was very sad to find out my long time friend had passed. Jack was one of the truest friend and person I have know. I will always remember Jack. One of the best people I have known.

I am in shock and great grief to just learn of Commissioner Jack E. Ravan's passing. I would always talk with him during the holidays...I am comforted knowing that he is resting in heaven. He was such a great man, with many accomplishments, but so humble. I count it a blessing to have worked with him at the City of Atlanta and for God allowed our paths to cross. Rest in Peace Comm.Ravan!

I was deeply sadden to learn of Jack's passing. As a career USEPA employee I had the opportunity to work for Jack in Washington and Atlanta. He was an outstanding public servant, a leader, a visionary, a mentor, and a great person.

He impacted my life in a very positive way and I will always be thankful that our paths crossed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

You have my deepest sympathy. May the God of loyal love comfort the family during your time of sorrow. Psalm 119:76.

I remember Jack as an outstanding member of the US EPA leadership team. It was a pleasure and honor to serve with him. May the family's memories of his contribution to protect and enhance our environment be among their many memories.

Dear Family:
I am pleased to have the comfort of knowing that Jack lived an exceptional life. I only knew him as a youth, although he still remains a hero to me. Perhaps that is how Jack was to many who knew him. I fondly repeat a story he told me while visiting him at West Point, where he described the monument to the Union Dead as a monument to Southern marksmanship.
It must be difficult for those who knew him more intimately to be consoled who feel their loss keenly. Please know...

Saw this today and remembered many times being with Jack over the decades - at EPA Region 4, at the docks in Mobile, and at the City of Atlanta. I enjoyed those times as we discussed more than work.

My prayers are with you the family at this time and after. God gives us time and opportunity to do good, and we need to move on with that responsibility - Jack did that well. God bless you all

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

To the Ravan Family...Iris Knox and Connie Knox Jones remember Jack as a kid living on Turner Street in Easley. Our sympathy to his living sisters and Bill Ravan.
