Not sure what to say?

A Tanka poem in memory of Jack for his family: Now that you are gone A part of you was taken and a gift returned in the precious memories never to be forgotten

My deepest sympathy to the Roger's family: Fifty-four years ago (1968), I met Jack at WSU's Plant Pathology Dept when I was drafted. I never went back to WSU after serving with the Airborne during Vietnam. But I still remember Jack's Southern accent and jovial personality. He was truly a genuine person. I wish I could have fly fished with him.

Was so sorry to hear of Jack passing away. I enjoyed talking to both of you before church. He will be truly missed by so many of us. My prayers go with you Belle and your family. Love

Diane and I give our deepest sympathy on Jack's passing. He was a world-class mycologist and educator. I was fortunate to know him as a graduate student at WSU in the early seventies. His jokes and limericks still make me smile. Rest in peace, my friend. Tony
