Not sure what to say?

I was one of those 8 year-olds that met him at the Boys Club in Royal Oak in 1958. He drove me to Wilson Sporting Goods to help me pick out my very first baseball mitt. A terrific gentleman who really lived the life of a very good man. My brothers Dan, Tom and Chris also spent significant time at the club. My sister Nancy was the first girl in the Boys Club choir. My whole family loved Jack! He set the bar for goodness and respect. We will miss him.

With gratitude I remember Jack Salter, to whom I was introduced by the Phillips family and whom I later got to know better when I was assigned to Shrine of the Little Flower parish. Jack and Patti are exemplars of civic virtue bolstered by lively faith. Blessings on all the family.

Mr. Salter was an amazing soul who touched so many lives. His legacy of believing in the youth of our community will continue live.

May you all find peace in your hearts and joy in your memories.

Love,
Cristina (Kavanagh) Eyre

Jack was a very special person. A great conversationalist and always pleasant. He will be missed always and especially at the St Anthony class of 1951 lunches. Eternal rest to him. Job well done.
