Not sure what to say?

Virginia, I hope you do what I do when I miss a special person who has passed on. I remember all of the good and cherished times I shared with that person and thank God I had the fortune to have known them and to have been their friend. As long as we remember the special ones like Jack they are never really gone, they still live vividly in our fondest memories forever.

Every time I go to work out at the MAC I remember Jack and what a fine man he was. I will be forever thankful to him for the assistance he gave me. I was privileged to be able to call him my friend.

I first met Jack at the 364th Civil Affairs Army unit and later worked with him at Consolidated Freightways. Jack was a good person and always a "class act". My condolences to the family.

I met Jack when I was a young school kid working out at the MAC. He helped me learn some exercise routines and procedures. We became friends forever. Later in life he assisted me in fulfilling my military obligations. Ramrod straight military steel on the outside that hid a kind and caring man underneath. He was the kind of man you seldom meet but think of often. First class in every respect, he set a fine example for a young man to try to follow. At ease, Sir, you have earned a...

front avenue north of the steel bridge was all freight ships and low warehouses. you had to watch out for trains. it was 1957 and i was five. it was clear and cold. jack held my hand and negotiated the the freight trucks westward to a small park. there was a couple of large iron rings attached to chains and about six feet off the turf. jack grabbed these and did a pretty good iron cross. he asked me if i wanted to try. i shook my head no. with a tuned-in kindness unusual in those days for an...

Jack and Trooper were staples in the early lives of my sons. As neighbors on the famous Horton Court, Jack and his many Golden Retrievers (all named Trooper)frequently walked the hood and was always the gentleman with kind words to the kids. He inspired us with his stories of his conquests in sport and in the wilds.
We moved away 12 years ago yet still received kind words from him when we ran into him and Virginia at Linn City Pub. We will miss him.

Jack was the most handsome, best-dressed man in the building while we both worked at Consolidated Freightways. He could wear pastel colored shirts and ties when most men at that time would not dare! Our paths crossed later in life when Jack & Virginia became neighbors of my parents. New common interests (besides my parents) were running and dogs! He walked his dogs daily and visited with everyone along the way--always with a story and a twinkle in his eye. Jack will be missed by so many.

I remember Jack and Virginia from my childhood, when Jack was in my father's Army Reserve Unit back in the 1950s (Col. William Naumann). Wonderful couple. So sorry for your loss, Virginia.
