Not sure what to say?

1963 Jack and I traveled from the coast of Liberian to Cote d'lvoire on money buses arriving in Abidjan and spending a coulple of hours drinking scotch with Gene Kelly on our trip to explore the countries of West Africa. Gene Kelly was on a US sponsored performance and staying the just opened stated of the art hotel. The next day we were on a train to Bouke for one night then off on the train to the Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. We then took a Bus accross the sahel to Niamey the capital...

I am George Hess and knew Jack from the Peace Corps with Liberia 1. I am sadden by Jack's death but I am so fortunate to have known him because my life is all the better for it. My sincerest prayers and thoughts for Swarm and fammily.

Reading Jack's obit was like rereading a dream of a life I wish I had led. He was clearly in possession of an epic life. My mouth dropped when reading it. Way to go Jack. And best wishes to the family. Andy Hanson (Liberia 1 1962-64)

My name is George Koch and I had the pleasure to serve in the Peace Corps in Liberia (1962-1964) with Jack. More importantly I traveled with Jack and his Peace Corps room mate Bob Sadler on a three day walk about in the Liberian bush. Jack and I on a summer vacation traveled overland to Ivory Coast, Upper Volta now Burkina Faso, Niger and Nigeria. What a great trip and what stories we had to tell. Will miss Jack and the warmth and humor he brought to all of us.

I was lucky to have...

To My Friend Jack,
Enjoyed our conversations, enjoyed the bar crawls, but most of all enjoyed the friendship form Atlanta to Seattle. Gald we made contact again in the last couple of years. I know I am better for it. I will miss you.

Jack was a school mate many years ago. I'm sorry i didn't know him as he grew older.
It sounds like he was a very caring person and accomplished much in his life time.
My condolences to his family. I know he will be missed by many.

My
name is Drury Ross. I was in Jack's 7th grade homeroom class. I will
never forget the skit our class did during the nomination assembly
because Jack did some funny things and stoled the show. I remember well
Jack's talent of identifying operas or classical music by just humning a
few bars for him. We have all lost a great classmate! He will be missed!

I am very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He realy did a lot of work for other country's, and the U.S
