Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the entire Stites family. Mr. Stites was a pillar in the community of Macomb and a dear friend of my father, Robert, and my mother, Phyllis. I recall going to his pharmacy store on the South Side Square often as a youth during the 60's, but I was more interested in the store's caramel candy selection instead of Mr. Stites' other medicines. I'll always remember those bow ties he wore as well as the kind way he joked with the neighborhood kids. Mr. Stites was a dear man...

Mr. Stites had a profound affect on my life. As a junior at Macomb High School, we got to participate in a career day. At the time, my interests were optometry and engineering. There were not any engineering sites to choose from so reluctantly I agreed to go to Jack Stites Pharmacy (per my mom’s suggestion) rather than attending high school for the afternoon. I had the best time at the pharmacy- using the computer (that was a big deal in the 80’s), counting pills, mixing an ointment, and...

Through my friendship with John we spoke of his father many times. When the conversation was about Jack, I could always see his smiling face. In the twentysome odd years since meeting Jack I really only saw him a handful of times. It struck me that whenever I did see Jack, he always seemed genuinely happy to see me and treated me like an old friend. My heart goes out to the Stites family, he will be missed.

Jack was the real MVP.

Jack was truely an outstanding gentleman and friend to so many people. It was an honor to be considered among his many friends, we will indeed miss him.
Jerry and Pat Schisler

Jack was truely a quality man that earned the respect of anyone who came in contact with him. We will remeber and cherish the Time that we were able to share with him. He is a great loss to you all and those that new and respected him. God will proudly recieve him.
Don And Mary Sharp, Springfield Illinois.

We will miss seeing Jack in the neighborhood. Always enjoyed seeing his smile and wave as he went by. Our thoughts are with Tom, Dave and the rest of the Stites family in this time of sorrow.

I'll be thinking of the entire Stites family and remembering what a kind and thoughtful man Jack was in the days, weeks and months ahead.

I am so sorry for your loss I know I only met him once but he seemed like a onderful person as was all of his family. The memories of this wonderful genleman I hope will help with the pain you will go through. My thoughts and prayers are with you.Pamela Rikard (Spoon River Home Health)
