I will never forget his kindness, generosity and his unstoppable energy to encourage one to take their dreams to to the next level in pursuit of better public health and a stronger community. We were shocked to hear of Jack´s passing. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, colleagues, and friends. His daily walks with his ski poles were a familiar and inspiring sight, and he will be greatly missed.

I didn´t have the opportunity to meet him in person. However, since moving to Vancouver three years ago, I´ve heard his name often, always accompanied by the same traits: passionate, great mentor, and great friend. As alumni of the MSc in Kinesiology at UBC, I´m aware that Jack paved the way for many students like me at this remarkable institution.
