Not sure what to say?

Jack was a very intelligent young man. I met him on Adak, Alaska 1980-1982 where I served in the Navy. I spent many an evening with Jack and some of his workers. He is missed

I thoroughly enjoyed Jack's friendship when I was stationed on Adak, Alaska in the Navy. We had a group of British explorer's visiting Adak and one student in particular enjoyed talking to Jack about his work salvaging WW2 vehicles. I had the pleasure visiting Jack and his wife in Toole after I left the Navy in 1982.

I was thinking back on about my 2 years on Adak, Alaska and was wondering how Jack was doing. I was there 1980 - 1982 and got to know Jack My sincere respect for him and his family.

I met Jack almost 20 years ago when restoring my first M151. He was always generous with his time and knowledge... enjoyed some great discussions with him over the years. You'll be missed Jack.

Jack and his 151- March 2007

Jack, folks of the old MVCC who knew you from the 70s and 80s will miss your unique character and wit. Your knowledge of military history and related vehicles was second to none. You were always willing to speak to others who wanted to pick your brain or ask questions- always willing to share. I’ll treasure my last visit on short notice in March 2007. We hadn’t seen each other for ages and spent the afternoon riding around and then talking about old times until the early hours of the morning...

Jack, you redirected my life. We shared a love for DUKWs, and in 1993 you invited me to join you in Norway at auctions of WWII US military vehicles. That directly led to making close friends in Norway, repatriating scores of WWII Dodges and "Jimmys",taking your place when you got too sick to lead the 1996 Coast to Coast Convoy of Norwegian CCKWs that you helped conceive, numerous European Amphib Rallys, meeting hundreds of new friends, including my best friend, my wife,Merike.
By your...

""Your life will never be the same"" These were the words he used in 1995 when he taught us how to take care and use ""YANKEE DUKW"" when we bought it, after years of fun for him going thru Europe on his journeys. He was right, it would never be the same.
Thank you Jack for being a friend for 15 years. You were allways there when we needed your advice.
Last year we made your dream real: crossing the English channel with the DUKW. Not from Dover to Calais like you did before 2 times...

Jack - I will miss your wit and humour. I always treasure your letters and your advice on life helped me through many times. Most of all I will miss your friendship. With love and many happy memories Diana
