Jack Towers was one of the nicest, most generous men I ever knew. He was always pleased to find just the right recording, performer, etc., that you requested. His knowledge of Duke Ellington's music was unsurpassed, and he made available to me and the teachers and students of the Smithsonian's Duke Ellington Youth Project any materials we requested. Thank you, Rhoda for sharing him with us. Luvenia A. George

Jack was a true friend, and always so giving. It was my honor to have known him. He'll be missed. Anne and I send our deepest sympathies to Rhoda.

Eernie & I didn't know Jack very long but we loved the time we spent with him, Rhoda and the family. We will miss him very much.

Jack was a sweet man, generous with his knowledge and humble about his own accomplishments. He was a fine analog engineer, who should not be judged by later (digital) techniques which he did not use. Archival work was not his thing; he made music sound like music.
And, fortunately for us, he also had good taste.
