Jack L. Welper, 82, former Anderson resident, passed away August 13, 2007, at Marliere Care Center in New Port Richey, Fl after an extended illness.
He was born May 21, 1925, in Anderson, the son of Wm Lewis and Marine (Currie) Welper. He lived most all of his life here, served in the US Army during WWII, retired in 1989 from Fisher Body in Marion and was a member of the UAW-CIO.
Jack is survived by a step-daughter, Sandra and husband John Dick of Anderson; two step-grandchildren, Michelle and husband David Skeen, John W. III and wife Niki Dick; three step-great grandchildren, Katherine Skeen, D.J. Skeen and Jacob William Dick; aunt and uncle, Madeline and Bill Currie of Naples, Fl; several cousins including, Barbara Phillips of Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58years, Dorothy Welper; two brothers, Warren Welper and Russell Welper.
Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Baker officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rite conducted by the VFW Post 266.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marliere Hospice Center in New Port Richey, FL.
