Jerry and I knew Jackie for many years. He was always a pleasure to be around and had an infectious laugh. He will certainly be missed by family and friends. Prayers to the family. Our loss, Heavens gain.

Coach Felts was my first basketball and baseball coach. He loved telling the story of him coaching me fresh out of my first season playing football and how he instructed me to block a person. Well, block in football and basketball have different meanings, but explain that to an 8 year old. I followed my coaching by in a formaldehyde way and have the player 2 forearms to the chest knocking us down, then jumped up and yelled, "YEAH!" Old Rural Hall boy. Went to school and hung out at the service station with Jackie. They didn't come any better. Always happy with a smile. Wondered over the years what had happened to him. Hate to find out this way. Sounds like he let a good life. I smile now thinking about him. RIP brother.
