Not sure what to say?

It was only today that I learned of the death of Jackie Nelson. There is no way that I can describe the wonderful feelings that I had for Jackie over the lat several years. We always seemed to meet at the grocery store or in the post office. That was when she and I would catch-up with whatever was happening with each other and the world. She was a special angel to me over the past several years through some hard times. She always kept up with what was happening to me and my life. I know that...

I met Jackie about a year and a half ago at a freelancers meeting at the Sun News. Being the good reporter she was, she immediately pelleted me with questions--Where are you from? How long have you lived here? Where did you move from? By the end of the meeting, she suggested that we "partner" in providing each other with information and ideas. Well, as you might imagine, she got the short end of that stick! We attended a few events together for the Neighbors section, exchanged e-mails, and...

To the Family of Jackie Nelson: When I think of Jackie, I think of a fun and feisty little woman with a big smile and personality. She recently came to my Laughter Club here in Pawleys Island and we had so much fun! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Jackie was a great lady who brightened my life. With sympathy and prayers, Kathy Shader, Pawleys Island, SC

Thank you and rest in peace.

Jackie was an inspiration to me during a very difficult time in my life and I will never forget how she reached out to me with her wit and wisdom. I always made a point to seek her out when I travelled back home to SC, even though our busy schedules sometimes wouldn't allow it. I will miss her and will always keep her close in my heart.

To Jackie's family and friends,
There are no words to say how much Jackie will be missed. I was so fortunate to really get to know her in the last couple of years. We shared several lunches as she talked about her love of her cat. She always told it like it was and pulled no punches. I loved her and will always remember her. Her tennis stokes are famous and there was nothing as challenging as the Jackie Nelson "drop shot".
She will be so tremendously missed.
I feel honored to...

Dear Taylor and family,
I grew to love Jackie Nelson while serving as Neighbors Editor for The Sun News, where Jackie's wonderful and lively column ran for many years. Jackie was so energetic and always interested in travel and learning. She was a woman of varied interests but I remember one important thing about Jackie--she loved the Waccamaw Neck area. I am so glad I knew her and sorry to hear of her death.

Jackie was my neighbor...my friend....and a wonderful person to know...and will certainly be missed by me and everyone she touched......I worked at Cedar Hill Landing, just a few small steps from Jackies door, and I would see her almost daily walking her dog. I saw her just recently and she told me she was going to come to the restaurant to eat a burger, she liked a thin burger pressed out flat, she would say "where's Popz , he knows how to make my burger". Thursday was the one day of the...

Jackie watched over me as a child, she taught me to be kind, and respect everyone. She taught me how to ride a bicycle...I don't know how many times I circled that driveway at the old home on Georgetown Road. I'll never forget walking through the backyard overlooking the nursey, the smell of mulch and flowers. I'll never forget seining for shrimp in Murrells Inlet and getting covered with mud from head to toe. I'll miss Jackie, but we'll meet again:)
