Jackie Ray Reece of Wichita Falls passed away on May 5, 2023 at the age of 88.


Graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 12, 2023 at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.


Jackie was born on July 10, 1934 to the late Andrew Jackson and Mary Jane (Willoughby) Reece in Walters, Oklahoma. In 1952, Jackie joined and proudly served in the United States Navy. While stationed in Tokyo, Japan, he met the love of his life, Aiko Kojima. The couple married on August 13, 1955 and spent the next 67 years together. After the military, Jackie retired from the United States Postal Service.


Jackie was a lifelong member the YMCA, where he enjoyed playing racquetball and swimming. Also, he completed 50 miles in the Hotter-n-Hell Cycling yearly event.


Along with his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by a sister, June Lavone Fouts; and a brother, Jerry Don Reece.


He is survived by his wife, Aiko Kojima Reece; two daughters: Jane Reece and husband, David Rufner and Susan Veal and husband, Larry; son, Michael Reece and wife, Belinda Riddles; three grandchildren: Courtney Mitchell, Brady Veal and wife, Lacey and Mitchell Reece and wife, Julie; and four great-grandchildren: Chloe Grace Mitchell, Addyson Leigh Reece, Emma Grace Hunter Reece and Witten Nolan Reece.
