Back in the 60's I met Jackie and Ted in Salem. Ted was just elected to the Oregon Senate and Jackie was his wife and dear companion. I was a Legal Aid lawyer in Portland, and went to Salem in attempts to get the legislature to raise the stipend for welfare mothers. I testified in front of Ted. Jackie was a wonderful person who helped me with my first election as Executive for Metro. I had no idea how to get my candidacy to "stand out". I was concerned about the environment and knew Jackie was a person also concerned about issues revolving around those matters. Her firm was new then and I quickly learned about her love of dogs. I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of a dear friend whom had a heart of gold, always supportive to her friends, loved animals, loved flowers & was so very talented & creative. You will be missed dearly Jackie
