Not sure what to say?

The world is just a little less light without Jackson's light among us. You'll always be loved, remembered, and missed, Jackson.

It seems almost out of place to post this now. However I did not find out about Jackson's passing until just this past October 2019, because I moved away from Oxnard, Ventura County area, a couple years before. Jackson was an amazing man. He was truly kind, thoughtful for his community of writers, generous of his time, and a genuine person. I loved how well spoken he was, such a gentleman. And his writing was so amazing, I know it will live on in our hearts long after his passing to the great...

I am so sorry and saddened by the news of Jack's death. I knew him as Jack Wheeler at the T.I.L. program in Oxnard. We were both new to California and enjoyed all the sights and sounds of our wonderful new home. The world has lost a gentle and compassionate soul.

I didn't really know Jackson, I knew Jackie Ray, my older cousin. He was the smartest person I ever knew, but even as a much younger child he always took time for me. Back then he painted and played music. He came every year for years. His poem was in my dad's funeral program, his books in my mom's home and he will always live in my heart.

Book club was at my house this time in February 1994 and Jackson graciously read some of his poetry from SWIMMING PAST ICELAND. His visual and deep heart poetry touched our imaginations and hearts as he spoke of places we visited as he spoke.
Lovely poetry; lovely man.

I feel privileged to have known Jackson, as a fellow employee and a fan of his poetry. A gentle, caring man all around.
