Funeral services for Jacky Glen Kimes, Sr. age 62 of Cookeville, TN, will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 1:00PM from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Robinson and Pastor Derek Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Paran Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, June 21st from 5:00-8:00PM and Thursday June 22nd from 12Noon till time of service at 1:00PM.


Mr. Kimes passed away on Saturday, June 17th at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Jacky Glen Kimes, Sr. was born on July 3, 1954 in Putnam County, TN to the late Henry and Emogene (Bilbrey) Kimes. He graduated from Cookeville High School and Tennessee Technological University. Jacky was a retired Administrative Hearing Officer for the U.S.D.A.


He is preceded in death by his Parents and Sister: Cathy (Al) Crisp


He is survived by:


Son and Daughter-In-Law: Jacky (Alice) Kimes, Jr.


Siblings & Spouses: Donnie (Wanda) Kimes, Gary (Earlene) Kimes, Dianne (Gary) Ledbetter, and Randall (Sharon) Kimes.


Grandsons: Addie Kimes and Trey Kimes


Host of Nieces and Nephews


Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.

I worked with Jack at the National Appeals Division for several years. I will always appreciate his kindness, helpfulness, and sense of humor. With deepest sympathy to the family.

Jacky and I went through school together at Algood and graduated together in 1972. I'll always remember his sweet smile. He was always joking around. Prayers for the family.

Jack and I started as USDA Hearing Officers together in the same class back in 1988. I had the privilege of knowing and working with him for over 20 years. He was an honest and forthright man and I respected him and his opinions.
