BORDEN, Jacob "Jack" Local Newscaster & Founder of For Spacious Skies A few words, no matter how well considered, cannot adequately sum up any life, and for the life of Jacob "Jack" Borden, a life filled with so many diverse friends and interests, the task is daunting. Jack passed away...

Not sure what to say?

So sad to learn of Jack Borden's death nearly a year after his passing. Jack was a professor of mine at Mount Wachusett Community College in 1974, teaching Public Communications. He was one of the best teachers I ever had, bringing real life experiences and humor into the classroom whenever he spoke of his times as a newsman at WBZ-TV in Boston. Such a nice man, a great communicator and someone to always remember fondly! Rich Merrill / Student of Jack Borden

Group of 10 Memorial Trees

My wife Sandra and I were visiting a friends in Wakefield NH last Friday 10/08/21. They were from Arlington MA. I was looking at the big sky up there and I told them about a television person I met back in the 70s. I met in my fathers lock shop in Bedford. Behind the bowling alley where CVS sits now. He was getting a key for his Valiant car.(50cents) I was in my thirties, they were in there 50s. I remember Mr. Borden and my father talked at length. They shared similar pain and medicine...

Group of 10 Memorial Trees

Dear family of Jack and Jeanette: I carry your dad and mom with me always. They were friends of my parents and loom large in my life and heart and memory. They were so joyful, so warm and loving and so good. Tomorrow is Jack’s birthday. I just can’t forget his smile. I will carry them both forward with great love.

I loved talking to Jack at McDonalds as we had our breakfast crew meetings. We would often share beautiful sky photos and I loved asking him about cloud formations. He is missed

Jack, you are missed already. My life has been better because of you. My children are aware of their surroundings because of the influence you had on my life 40 years ago. I have been honored by the trust you put in me and the opportunity to help in a small way to further your belief that life is so much better with light. I'm looking up, my friend. Mehr Licht für die Ewigkeit...

Deryl and I were friends back in the day. I learned much from
Mr. Borden, who always asked to be called Jack. Jack’s perspectives on every day life were deeply insightful. I loved talking about the Red Sox with Jack, especially their mid 1970s rivalry with the Yankees. They broke the mold when they made Jack Borden.
