Not sure what to say?

I had the honor to fly with the General on many occasions as a NWA 747-400 First Officer in the early `90s and it was always a pleasure. Such a consumate gentleman - of all the people to suffer a stroke at such a young age, he was the last person I expected to go through that. My wife got to meet him on one of our 6 PAC crossing trips and she was overwhelmed by his kindness. Though his career was cut short, he left an incredible legacy for all of us who knew him.

THe General was my favorite Captain at NWA. I flew many times with him as a First Officer and took with me many of the lessons he taught and applied to my experiences as a Captain. He truly set the example. I missed him so much after he had his stroke and I could no longer have the privilege of flying trips with him. RIP Jake.

Knew Jake when I worked for NWA at Spokane in the '90s. As a fellow Montanan and UM Griz alum, always enjoyed visiting with Jake and talking about Montana and UM. May he rest in peace.

So sorry Bob and Bev and family
