Jacob C. Dial, age 74 of Elwood died April 5, 2009 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville after a brief illness. He was born on December 26, 1934 in Cuba, Alabama. He retired in 1996 as a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the Elwood Conservation Club.

Suriviors include: Wife whom he married on December 24, 1953 – Mary (Williams) Dial of Elwood; 2 Daughters – Mary Elizabeth Dial of Elwood and LeAnne Stansberry of Elwood; Son – John Dial of Elwood; 2 Brothers – James and wife Dolly Dial of Elwood and Jerimiah and wife Elaine Lawrence of Mobile, AL; 9 Grandchildren – Jacob Stansberry, Jacyln Cole, Ronald E. Stansberry, Jeriod Stansberry, Justin Stansberry, Sabino Diaz, Dominga Diaz, Raeanna Marcum all of Elwood and Mary Leigh Adam of Indianapolis; and 14 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents – Charles and Nellie (Williams) Dial; Daughter – Vickie L. Diaz; 5 Brothers – Walter Dial, William Dial, Robert Dial, John Dial and Raymond Dial.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Mark Arnett of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Elwood officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 PM Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Mary and family-I was saddened to hear of Jake's passing. My prayers and deepest condolences are with you at this time.

As i sit here looking at the picture of Jake in a suit a strange feeling comes over me first I have never seen Jake in a suit and I couldn't have imagined that i ever would. Having first met jake at the atlanta conservation club we became good friends. I haven't seen Jake in a few years but I can still remember that laught of his, when he got going the whole clubhouse would stop to see what he was laughting about.
