Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel - Hillsville Obituary

Jacob Steven Dillon (Jake) was born August 9, 1995 to Robyn and Randy Dillon in Galax, VA. He was loved by his sister Rossie, husband Seth Gravley, and nephews Colton, Hunter, and Jax; and his sister Annie and husband Jared Hall. He leaves behind grandparents Ronnie and Ruthie Dillon; and Scarlett Hunter; and great-grandmother, Lena Rose Dillon. He is remembered and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Jake lost a long battle with addiction on January 29, 2022 in his home. Our peace is that even in the midst of his struggles, Jake recently proclaimed to know and love Jesus, and claimed Heaven as his home.

Jake is remembered by his family, friends, and co-workers for his contagious laugh, beautiful smile, sense of humor, hilarious dance moves, genuine kindness, witty comebacks, non-judgmental acceptance, and great work ethic. He was described as the light and laughter in a room, an encourager, and a great friend.

Jake’s services will be held at Blue Ridge Fellowship on Saturday, February 5. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, and Celebration of Life Service at 12 with Pastor Scott Flippin officiating.

In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to God’s Storehouse Soup Kitchen P.O. Box 81 Galax Va.

So sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sympathy and prayers

Rossie,
We were saddened to hear of your loss. I have given up to brothers due to alcoholism so I can sympathize in your hurt. We love them so much but feel so helpless to help them. Just so thankful for Gods Grace and forgiving power. Thank God for the Blessed hope that they are finally free of their addictions and when we meet again all will be grand! Prayers for you all!

Robyn and Randy, my deepest condolences. My heart goes out to both of you. As a mother who lost her own son a little over a year ago, I truly know your pain. May you look to the Lord and know that your son is with Him. May that bring you a sense of peace. Prayers, hugs and love to you both.

My heart goes out to each of you.
You all hold a special place in my heart.
Jake was a precious soul. Jimmy & I will continue to pray for you. Love you all.
