This is so heartbreaking. Such a beautiful soul. Even with all that is given, and we do our very best, it is never truly understood what someone is going through. To find peace within yourselves for the love and time each of you had with him and to then cherish those memories, is a way to cope. Because this has been and will be so deep within, these two things can be so important for those of us left to continue. I hope for some kind of comfort and healing to anyone who needs it.

Karen put it beautifully, and I'm not sure I can say much more except that I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for putting Jacob's mental health issue out there for all of us to try to comprehend. Mental health is so important and still is something many don't wish to address. I wish you peace.

To Jacob's family - You have honored your son's struggle by sharing it. I pray that you find some peace in the memories of good times with Jacob, and some measure of comfort in knowing that you will spur conversations about mental health with other families to help them navigate their struggles.
