Jacob Michael Jerger passed away September 23, 2014. Loving husband of the late Betty Ann Jerger, (nee Stoesser); caring father of Joanne (Kurt) Rusch; devoted grandfather of Jacquelyn. Jacob was a drummer, composer, clinician and music teacher at New Trier, Evanston High School, Maine West, Oakton Community College and North Park College. Visitation Monday, September 29th, from 3 to 9 pm, and Tuesday, September 30th, from 11 am until the time of funeral service at noon, at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6467-77 N. Northwest Hwy (one block north of Devon), Chicago. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 would be appreciated. Jake helped me through the toughest time of my life - high school. He kicked my butt when no one else could do it. Just found some practice licks he wrote for me 10/15/1962. Loved this guy. RIP

Dear Joanne, my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear dad. I've only talked to you a few times, but I'm sure you'll remember me as Jan Jarvis's sister Jennifer. You dad was such a huge inspiration to my brother. He brought out the best talents in Jan as he did in so many people. What a gifted man.
