Cousin Jake is remembered as great fun and a good sport in the late 1940's and early 1950's when we spent our days outdoors. Summers on Kearsley Creek wading upsteam to what the Veit family called "Clay Mountain", swimming, and in the winter, ice skating behind their house on Genesee Road. Jake was often the brunt of our levity, hiding from him as he tried to follow us older kids- VonEber, Cliff, my brother Larry and myself.
