Jacobo Tadeo Herrera was born February 27th, 1970 and left us November 18th, 2024. He is survived by his parents Jose and Marina Herrera; his siblings Jose Herrera, Veronica Herrera, and Luis Herrera; his wife, Shawna Herrera, and his children: Jake Herrera, Josh Herrera, Vanessa (Herrera) Mohamed, Logan Herrera, Lucas Herrera, and Marcus Berdeja (stepson); and grandchildren Jade, Allie, Jett, Josh, Isaac, Jacob. He served honorably in the United States Marines from 1989 to 1992, during which he was deployed to Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm.
He lived life to the fullest and especially enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved dogs, Bruno and Wheezy. He was funny, stubborn, and sarcastic, with an enormous benevolent heart. He had phenomenal patience… for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was a true son of immigrants, looking to achieve the American Dream and helping others along the way, especially when he “made it big”, in his words. His generosity knew no bounds. He donated his time and financial resources to his friends and community. His philanthropic efforts continue to have an impact on generations of football players and wrestlers across the country. He was the “rock” of his family and will be dearly missed by all those lives he touched.
Rosary will be recited at St. Patrick’s Church in Arroyo Grande on Dec 2nd, 2024 at 5:30 pm. His Funeral Mass will be at St. Patrick’s Church on December 3rd, 2024 at 11am with his burial to follow at the Guadalupe Cemetery. A Celebration of Life reception will take place at 3pm at Guadalupe City Hall after the burial.
