Jacqueline (Jackie) N. Laforce, of Memphremagog Views, Newport, passed away at her home on August 2, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on December 2, 1940 in Drummondville, PQ, the daughter of Napoleon and Yvonne Lacharite Daigneault. On August 5, 1961 Jacqueline married Jean-M. Laforce. They moved to Newport in 1964 when Jean and his partner bought Newport Furniture Parts. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and for the last twelve years spent winters at their home in Florida. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, arts and crafts, playing cards with family and friends, dancing and especially enjoyed family gatherings and her grandchildren.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband Jean of Newport, her children, Maryse and her husband Jay O’Brien and his daughter Paige of Jericho, Nancy and her companion David Graves and his daughter Brianna of Coventry, and David and his wife Julie of Derby, her grandchildren, Kaylee Jean Graves, Justin Laforce and Trevor Laforce, her brothers, Gilles Daigneault and his wife Murielle of PQ, and Larry Daigneault and his wife Claudette of Newport, her sisters, Nicole and her husband Yvon Lefebvre of PQ, and Suzanne and her husband Daniel Poisson of PQ, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many close friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday August 4, 2006 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Yvon Royer officiating. Friends may call at the Church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery in Newport.

Should friends desire, contributions in Jacqueline’s memory may be made to the Orleans-Essex VNA & Hospice Inc., 46 Lakemont Road, Newport, VT 05885 or to Sacred Heart School, Clermont Terrace, Newport, VT 05855.
