Not sure what to say?

I still hold you and my heart. I have a constant remainder of the nuggets that you give me on life. You are missed

7th grade would not have been the same if not for Mrs. Irons/Rembert. Her first teaching position was at J.W. Darden High School in Opelika. I was in her first class. I´m sure the education system has missed her dearly. Much thanks and love to her family.

I have known your Mom for a long time (sine kindergarten which I attended with Anna, Alvin and Ricky). There are a couple of specific memories: She had a very distinctive walk (strut). I can see her now walking through the gym and halls of the old Carver High; She had VERY high expectations and let you know immediately when you didn´t meet them (only happened once. Reflecting back, it was so important to have strong, Black role models like your Mom who held me accountable); Great memory- I...

Thanks you Dr Strickland. She often spoke of her days on Opelika. She left when my shortly before my brother, Alvin, was born. I believe she named him after someone in her class. I enjoyed reading your acknowledgments.

Strolling thru the internet trying to remember Mrs Rembert's maiden name, I found her Obituary. Saddened to see this but, to her family, I was in her first teaching class as she was my 7th grade teacher at J.W. Darden High School in Opelika Alabama. She got married to Mr Rembert during this time. Fresh out of college. Good teacher. My condolences.

Thanks to all for the sweet memories and words of consolation. I am reading these on 2/15, 3+ weeks after her passing. I am smiling.
Thank you!

Her Daughter,
Val
