James A. McAlister Cremation Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Jean Wager, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013. The relatives and friends of Jackie are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Beaufort. Born March 26, 1929 in Thomasville, Georgia, Jackie married her high school sweetheart, John O. "Jack" Wager on June 7, 1946. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and is survived by her husband Jack, three sons (Bruce, Brian and Curtis), six grandchildren (Nikki, Joey, Emily, Cody, Casey and John Michael) and her sister, Doris Hardin of Lake Wales, Florida. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Severns. An active member of the Episcopal Church and a Daughter of the King, former president of the Madora Garden Club in Hartwell, Georgia, and Daughter of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames, Jackie enjoyed cooking, gardening, needle work, painting and traveling. Her needle work and paintings can be found throughout the homes of many family members and friends. In retirement, Jack and Jackie traveled and learned the history of many places throughout Europe. Taking an interest in her family's genealogy, she discovered documents and photographs of her ancestors dating back to the 1700s. The impact Jackie had on other's lives will not be forgotten and she will be greatly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 4124 Clemson Blvd, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
