Think of you guys a lot. And of the time your dad left your mom near Mammoth, I think, and drove home with you all. Feeling sad right now. Hope you're all well.

Beautiful pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Wells! I was always awed by the Wells' home. They seemed to have a real family. And Mr. Wells managed Food Basket, the New York Yankees of Point Loma Little League. And they had color T.V.! I think it was 1956 (I could have the year wrong) and the World Series was on and it was in color!

Dear Art, Bill and David,
I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. What a spectacular woman she was. I remember how supportive she was of both the sports you participated in and our San Diego professional teams. I can remember going to the Gulls hockey games. . . a Wells family favorite. I enjoyed the Wells Family Ice Cream Socials at the Thursday Club. What fun to socialize with your family and friends and be served ice cream by the handsome Wells boys. She was a support to me...

Bill, Art and David.
I've told the story at least 100 times about when you left your mom behind at the gas station on Hwy 395 -- great family story.
Your house was always a second "home" to me when we were kids. Sorry to hear of your loss, your mom was an amazing person.
The only person that lived closer to Silver Gate Elementary was me! I also remember that "Billy" was the second fastest runner in the 6th grade --- Marcy Hudson was the fastest -- I think that was her...

I will always remember Jackie for her keen intellect, class, and sense of humor. Overall a wonderful lady and a loss to not only her family, but all that were lucky enough to know her.

Anonymous thoughts and memories shared from emails and cards:
Another Wells memory involves one of your dessert parties (ice cream socials) at The Thursday Club in which you and your brothers scooped ice cream for all of the guests. While this may sound unbelievable (I must have been about 11 years old), that was the first time in my life I had a banana split! (I think I was culturally deprived before that term came into use!).
Your mother I remember as one of the most...

My best memory of Jackie is when I showed up to sign up for little league, but was too shy to go to the table. she came out onto the playground at Silvergate and made me go sign up! I am forever grateful!
