Quincy, California
May 5, 1934 – Apr 14, 2008 (Age 73)
Quincy resident Jacquelyn Alberta Alvey passed from this life peacefully, to join her husband in their eternal home, Monday morning April 14th, 2008 at her residence, with her loving family at her side, following a valiant battle with lung cancer. Born seventy three years ago in Bell, California on May 5th, 1934 to German immigrants Gustuv and Vivian (Rolthstein) Petzoldt she was raised and educated in Southern California. "Jackie" as she affectionately became known married the love of her life the late William H. Alvey November 11th, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union three sons were born. The family relocated from Norwalk, California to Quincy, in 1970. Here she attended the Quincy Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, helped the Plumas District Hospital as a volunteer with the "Pink Ladies", but most importantly served her family as a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had been employed as a watchman at D. G. Lumber Company and worked in the kitchen of Care West Nursing and Rehabilitation for a number of years. "Jackie" found solace in tending to her beautiful garden. In passing "Jackie" leaves her sons; Daniel, Richard and Jerry Alvey all of Quincy, CA, grandchildren; Rhonda, Heather and Richard and great grandchildren James Kirsten, Nicole and Gregory. She is preceded in death by her loving husband William in December of 2005. At her request following cremation no services will be held. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at www.fehrmanmortuary.com. The family suggests any remembrances in "Jackie's" memory be made to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society c/o Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory P.O. Box 53 Quincy, CA 95971.
