Not sure what to say?

Think of Frank often especially when the University of Michigan's sports teams are on television. Gone much too soon. High school friend, Troy King

A high school friend that will always be remembered.

I took Dr. Yates' psychology of decisions course when I was a senior in college almost 20 years ago. I felt lost, did not know where I was headed at the time, and thought taking the course would help me somehow. He was patient, kind, and thoughtful when he answered my questions during his office hours. It also meant a lot for me to see a professor who was a person of color in a predominantly white community in the psychology department. I was thinking about him yesterday and wondering if he...

Rest In Peace Cousin Frank. May the Lord bless your loved ones.

My deepest sympathy to the Yates family on the passing of their beloved Jacques Frank Yates who exemplified throughout his life a spirit of grace, exceptional intellect and compassion I knew Frank and some members of his family during my early school years His mother was truly graceful and kind lady. In high school Frank was an outstanding and highly respected leader. During his college years Frank came back during the summer to give lectures to some of my classmates. Although we pursued...

The merger of CULS and the University’s Opportunity Program became the Comprehensive Studies Program. And I remember well the meeting when we...

Frank was my senior colleague at the University of Michigan. He was driven to help students and junior faculty alike. We later discovered we played tennis and would get together on occasion to play. It was fun and competitive, and the chit chat in between games was always fun and intellectually stimulating. Frank made me feel as if he listened to every word I said, and I don't doubt that he did.

Oscar Ybarra
Colleague at the University of Michigan Psychology Department

Frank was a truly wonderful colleague. I first met him when I was a junior faculty member at my first J/DM conference. He was warm and welcoming, offered constructive comments on others' research and, of course, provided stellar research of his own. His loss is felt by us all. Please accept my condolences.
