Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. - Lemont Obituary

Jae Yoon Lim, 48 years old, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 15th, 2020. Jae was a life long resident of Lemont and a graduate of Lemont High School (class of 1990). As manager/owner of the Lemont House Restaurant, he enjoyed the many patrons that came in and conversed with him. As friends will say, he was known for his witty humor and selfless attitude in the community.

He is survived by both his parents, Jung and Nam Lim, his brother Jason (Mary) Lim, a niece Madeline, three nephews, Joseph, Jack, and Jeremiah, and his other family members.

Because of Covid -19, private services will be held for only immediate family. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Rest in peace, Jae, we all love you.

Not sure what to say?

You were such an incredible person and an even better friend. I think about you frequently and wish I could just come by to say hi. Words can not express how much I miss you.
Loved working for you too. But most importantly, thank you for believing in me and helping me so much with everything!!
Many prayers to your family. Sending so much love to them. Xoxo Nikki

My wife and I would frequent Lemont House once a week. Jae was a stand up guy and we always looked forward visiting with him. We laughed about Seinfeld episodes and how they related to our daily lives. He genuinely came across as a guy who would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket. Our hearts go out to Jae and his family, my they find comfort in knowing so many of his friends held him in such high regard.

So sorry for your family lost every time I saw him he was always saying hello and had a smile on his face he will be truly missed

Jae always made us feel special and as if we stepped into his home. His pride in cooking and service was amazing. It makes me incredibly sad that he is gone too soon. I miss him. He was Lemont. Rest In Peace.

Jae was my not only my best friend since 6th grade but also my brother with 35+ years of unwavering friendship. We supported one another at our lowest of lows and celebrated our highs in life. We both could rely on one another for any favor no matter the day or hour: “No” simply didn’t exist in our bond.

I’ve never known a more dedicated, selfless, honorable, and giving man than him.

Words cannot express the sorrow we feel right now at the passing of Jae. He was an amazing, funny and thoughtful man. Our deepest condolences to all of you.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Lim,

We were deeply saddened to learn that Jae passed away. Jae was a great young man and will be dearly missed by those who knew him. He was such a hard worker, always a pleasure to talk to, and he was just so special in may ways. We send our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

There are no words to describe the loss of this young man.
My sympathy to his family
My sympathy to his friends
The one thing I remember most about Jae is his smile, and laughter.
Lemont has lost another strong piller. This one was way too young.
