Jae Philip Portman

left a lasting imprint in the world of architecture.

I knew Jae for a little while, when we were both at Woodward Academy in the tenth grade. When I saw his dad's obituary recently, I was saddened to see Jae had preceded his dad in death. I always liked Jae and am sad to learn of his premature passing.

As I walk around the Mart everyday I can't help but think of you. Really do miss your good karma and all of your kindness to everyone. You have not been forgotten and never will be.

I remember Jae from military school. He was a fun and interesting guy. So sorry to hear about his premature demise.

Can it really be ten years? Your Baby is graduating college soon and yet…it's as if time has stood still. You are forever young and handsome to me…
I lit a candle for you today at St. Patrick's and it is fitting that the tree lighting is tonight in Rockefeller Center. I remember how you loved to stand there and watch. I can see you still. Look what was on the tea table at the Plaza where you and I went so often.....your initials!
