I heard this dreadfully sad news just today, and wanted to reach out to you. I remember lovely Jae from Ludlam elementary, where both of my children went to school. I am so so terribly sorry I cant imagine. My heart goes out to your family. ~Billie Thurlow

Dear Chris and Claire, I am so saddened to hear of Jae Sweeny-Lardner's transition. I am at a loss for words. To loose a child is the most horrific loss I can think of.

When Jae played defender for me, she reminded me of my favorite current player, Marcelo, the Brazilian National and Real Madrid player; he's considered by most to be the best defender playing now. Coaching her was a dream. Directly communicate the rational response to circumstances which will present themselves (and the underlying analysis), and she does exactly that on the field from whistle to whistle. Never once saw her give up on a play. Jae is the kind of kid that makes coaches...
