Obituary

Jaime Guttenberg died February 14, 2018 in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida. She was 14.

Her aunt, Ellyn Guttenberg, told the New York Times that Jaime loved to dance-"sometimes she went on for hours."

Jaime's father, Fred, told friends and neighbors via Facebook: "We appreciate all of the calls and messages, and we apologize for not reacting to everyone individually."

The Sun-Sentinel reported that Dance Theatre president Michelle McGrath Gerlick announced on Facebook that young dancers from around the country will be wearing orange ribbons at dance competitions this weekend, in honor of Jaime's favorite color.

Legacy mourns all those who died at Stoneman Douglas.

Not sure what to say?

I never knew Jaime personally but from what I have seen and heard she was a beautiful person and always light up any room she walked through. NO ONE should have to go what she went through as a 14 year old girl. Jamie will forever be 14. We miss you Jaime fly high!

14 years Is too young to go, you will forever be missed

I have never met you Jaime but two things I know about you: #1 You loved to dance. #2 Your life was taken too soon. Rest in peace to you Jaime and sending best wishes to your family and friends.

I do not know Jamie Guttenberg but she is a pretty girl who lost her life too soon. My heart aches when young innocent kids lives were lost during that tragic day 2018.

As I watch Jamie's father's impact statement... I felt compelled to come here and send my best wishes, and prayers to the entire family. May God give you strength, and bring light into your life.

Thank you for keeping Jamie's memory alive. I share her love for dance

rest in peace jaime, you will be missed but not forgotten. i hope that one day, school will be a safe place to go and learn without tragedies like this happening. i have never met you, but i send my condolances to you and your family.

Dear Jaime and her family,
I would like to extend my sympathy, and my love. I did not know Jaime, but from what I heard she was an amazing dancer, and a wonderful girl. Jaime was also beautiful and had an amazing smile. I am the same age as she was when she was taken. I cant imagine going through what you are going through. I would like to send all of my condolences and she has inspired me to be a better person. I am with you. Rest In Peace Jaime.

Rest in peace. You were taken far too soon. We will never forget you.
