Jake Edward Lambert, 70, of Hector, Arkansas, died Monday, July 18, 2005 after his short battle with cancer at the UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. The second son of Troy Edward Lambert and Jacob Suzanna Tullis Lambert, Jake was born in Topeka, Mississippi on September 7, 1934.
Jake married his high school sweetheart, Ester Ann Ratliff on January 8, 1955. During their life together, Jake and Ann chose to make their home in several states across the country in order to facilitate Jake’s professional pursuits in metallurgy and surface coatings. Jake held positions with NASA in Louisiana, Westinghouse in Florida and Texas and Mississippi Power and Light in Mississippi. He retired from Saudi Aramco after completing his career with tenure in Saudi Arabia in 1990. Jake was preceded in death by his father, Troy, and his wife, Ann.
Another fundamental part of Jake’s life was his devotion and involvement with the church of Christ. For the past seven years he has been a member of the congregation at the West Side church of Christ in Russellville, Arkansas. During this time he met Linda Lee Jones and on March 19, 2005, Jake chose Linda as his second life mate. Jake and Linda made their home together near Ola, Arkansas.
Jake is survived by his mother Jacob Suzanna Tullis Lambert of Jayess, Mississippi; his wife, Linda Lambert of Ola, Arkansas; one son, Jeffrey Edward Lambert and wife Sue of Abbeville, Louisiana; two daughters, Michelle Lambert Secoy and husband Clark of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, and Lisa Ann Lambert Smith and husband Randy of Vicksburg, Mississippi; a stepdaughter, Lori Martin and husband Marty of Centerton, Arkansas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Lambert of Tylertown, Mississippi, William Lambert of Searcy, Arkansas, and Troy Lambert of Henderson, Tennessee; and many other loved ones and friends
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 22, 2005 at Humphrey Chapel with Mr. William Lambert and Mr. Bruce Grice officiating. A second funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, Mississippi. Burial will follow in the Tilton United Methodist Church Cemetery at Monticello, Mississippi. Local arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Humphrey Funeral Service.
