Jakelynn A. Ammons

Alexandria - Funeral services celebrating the life of Jakelynn A. Ammons will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in The Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. Reverend David Newton will be officiating. A private burial will be in Maranatha (Harrell) Cemetery, on a later date.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 5, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resume on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Jonathan Socia, Ashton Ammons, Blake Socia, Tate Socia, Paul Socia, Hayden Moore, C. H. Socia, Tommy Meshell, Jr. and Dustin Socia.

Jakelynn A. Ammons, 18, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Saturday, January 27, 2018, in Alexandria.

Jakelynn was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. She was attending the University of Louisiana Lafayette, studying to be a Nurse Anesthetist, where she was an A student and named on the Presidents list.

Jakelynn was an avid lover of life and enjoyed making people laugh and to feel important. She always tried to find the positivity in everything and everyone, spreading her contagious energy to everyone around her. She was a loving daughter and friend who was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered by those that knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her great grandmother, Jerrine Harrell; grandfather, Tommy Meshell, Sr. and her aunt, Mary Louise "Sweet" Lindsey.

She leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Melissa Meshell Socia and stepfather, Pete Socia; her father, Jon A. Ammons (Olivia); brothers, Ashton Ammons, Blake Socia (Jackie) and Zachary Socia; grandparents, Jimmy and Ann Harrell, Danny and Susan Ammons and C.H. and Masel Socia; uncles, David Harrell (Camilla), Tommy Meshell, Jr., Chuck Socia (Christi) and Paul Socia (Pam).; aunt, Christi Medley(Paul); niece, Audrey Socia; nephew, Grady Socia and a host of other family members and friends.
