James 'Uncle Jim' H. Gross

Graveside services for James H. ?Uncle Jim? Gross, 93, of Tyler, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating, under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.

James was born March 14, 1919 in Logansport, Indiana, to the late Frank and Emma Gross. He passed away peacefully on January 12, 2013, in a Tyler care center.

He was retired from Tyler Pipe and Hamilton Plumbing Supply, and was a Christian and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and on July 11, 2012, a son, Michael Gross.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Betty; daughter, Judy; son, David; daughter-in-law, Roz; and grandson, Michael Jr. He is also survived by a brother, Francis and his wife Evelyn of Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Burks Walker Tippit.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
