I first met the Colonel while working as a trooper on the Governor's Security Detail.
What an honorable and humble man.
I remember he had given up his seat on a national guard helicopter for me while Governor White was touring tornado damage near Houston.
A lot of us felt that the DPS needed outside leadership and Governor Clements brought him in to be our new Director.
May God rest his soul and prayers for his family.
