Ben and Family,
We wanted to express our sympathy and let you know how sorry we are for your loss. Even though we hadn't met him, Ben speaks so often of his Dad it feels as if we did.
Please know that we are thinking of you all out here in Colorado.

What a terrible loss! We haven't kept in touch, but my prayers go for all of you. Jim will be greatly missed. He was a fine person, scientist, instructor.

I just learned today what happened and I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am for what you are all going through. You are a wonderful and loving family and with His help and guidance you will get through this. I am sorry for being unable to come by to pay respects, however, another friend has passed away at this very same time. All the words that you have ever spoken concerning your husband (and children too) were full of love, honor and respect. I, therefore, know that the sudden death of Dr. Alderfer has devasted you.
