He defended our way of life and was a prominent citizen who brought honor to our region. Jimmy was one of the first surfers in North Carolina and instrumental in shaping the local surfing community into what it is today. Jeff, and family. When I moved to Wilmington is 1966 to attend Wilmington College, Jimmy became one of my first friends and got me into surfing. Some of the best times of that period I spent with Jimmy. We went lots of places in his blue van with the speaker on top. My life changed after I was drafted, but over the years when I would see Jimmy it was just like the old times.
