Obituary

Anagnost James Allan Anagnost, age 38, of Brooklyn Park, MN. Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2005. Jim was a fun-loving and faithful friend to all who knew him. He was predeceased last year by his nephew, Gus Martinez, who he loved as his own son. We are thankful that he and Gus will be together in eternal rest. Jim is survived by his parents, Nick and Anne Anagnost of Montour Falls, NY; his sisters, Tracy (John) Martinez of Brooklyn Park, MN, Mary of College Park, MD, Kate of Groton, NY, and Karen of Ithaca, NY; his niece and nephew, Sophia and Henry Martinez; his special niece, Makenzi Alling of Montour Falls; and hundreds of wonderful friends all around the country. Jim was a 1984 graduate of Odessa-Montour Central School and loved being active in OMCS athletics. He was also a member of the founding team of the Twin Tiers Youth Hockey Association in Elmira, NY. In 2000, Jim was proud to graduate from Syracuse University and he remained an avid fan of the Orange until his death. Jim was employed by the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association in Minneapolis. Jim was a wonderful storyteller and he often regaled his new friends in Minnesota with wonderful tales of his childhood and young adulthood in Upstate New York. Jim made everyone he met feel important and loved. His loss will be mourned by many. Memorials to honor Jim may be made to the Brooklyn Park Police Department or to the Child Life Department at Children's Hospital - Minneapolis. Funeral services and interment will be in New York on Monday, January 17, 2005. A Memorial Service for Jim will be held in Minnesota during the Summer of 2005 and will be announced by the family at a later date. Not sure what to say?

Happy 45th birthday, Little Brother.

Kate and Big Bro Jimmy

Hey big brother...I am sorry I didn't send Christmas wishes and all the holiday stuff but my heart wasn't into it. I knew the second I actually tried to write to you I wouldn't be able to say much. It's too soon. Please just take care of our Mommy! The only thing that gives me any sense of peace is knowing that she is with you and Gus and how happy you both are to have her with you again. Hug, kiss, and tell her I love her and miss her, but I know she isn't suffering anymore. And please...

Merry Christmas Jimmy. We miss you every day.

Love,
Mary

Jimmy's best girl.

It appears Mom has beaten the odds again! Many people are amazed by her resiliance, but they don't know that she has two guardian angels taking care of her that love her deeply and are not going to take her from us until we are prepared and can endure the pain and grief that we know too well. I cannot even imagine this family surviving losing Mom, but I know that the one thing that will eventually bring me peace is that she is with you and Gus. I would prefer that she stay with us for years...
