Anderson, James William, age 70, of Calera, died on November 4, 2015. The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at New Shelby Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson was born on December 10, 1944. He attended Bibb County High School and played college football at Livingston (University of West Alabama). He taught and coached high school football throughout Alabama and Florida. He was a man of many jobs but, most of all, James loved working with fellow coaches and high school football players. He loved his family and sponsoring senior citizens before becoming ill.

Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by parents: Ernestine and Alfred Anderson; brother: Alfred Anderson; sisters, Mary Nell Nettles, Alpha Motley; brothers-in-law, John Motley and Don Wilson. He is survived by his wife: Celia Pate Anderson; daughter: Tiffany Anderson; son: Darrin Ellis (Paige); grandsons: Connor Anderson, Jack Ellis, Sam Ellis; sisters: Angie Weeks (Lawrence), Glannie Wilson; brothers: Johnny Anderson (Jan), Greg Anderson (Kaye); brother-in-law: Gene Nettles; nephews: Allen, Andy, Al, Joe, Bryant, Taylor, Jay, Hill; nieces: Sharon, Vickie, Cathy, Ladonna, Mariam and a host of great nieces, nephews and numerous other family and friends.
